Ranveer Singh likely to play street rappers in Zoya Akhtar’s next, says rapper Naezyon September 18, 2016 at 12:43 pm
Name the actor Ranveer Singh is almost confirmed to the director Zoya Akhtar side says rapper city Naezy, whose life the film is next inspired.The project, which is rumored to Gully Boy is titled, it is about the life of street rappers of chawls of Mumbai and ghettoes, including artists Naezy and divine.
There have been reports that Ranveer will be in the role of a rapper. When asked if the 31-year-old actor is doing the film,
Naezy told PTI, “He is doing the film, which is almost confirmed. But there are still a few things that have not yet been completed, the script is running.” The “rapper Asal Hustle”, whose real name is Naved Sheikh, he said Ranveer will be the perfect fit for the role as he understands and loves hip-hop.
“Ranveer also listen to hip-hop. He knows what real hip-hop is. We spoke to him and he is also very excited about this. He will enjoy this (paper) as well. I had a hint of Bollywood called ‘ Birju ‘in which the synchronized lip and was in my stand.
“I was rappin ‘like me. He hears all our music. It’s a very versatile actor. He can be a Bajirao and a rapper too,” he said. Naezy, who lives in Kurla, said on the sidelines of the screening of the film, the film “Dil Dhadakne Do” visited his village and tried to understand the “life stories” of underground rappers.
Zoya also saw live presentation of artists to gain a better understanding, and Naezy says rappers meanwhile, gave their inputs. “She is a very intelligent manager. She has thought about doing something about this, so it’s good. The biggest mistake regarding hip-hop will be eliminated and will also help the underground scene to reach the mainstream,” he said .
Naezy made the remarks at the initiative of the music-and-talk Rolling With ‘by Twitter India, in collaboration with Rolling Stone. In the event, divine, whose real name is Vivian divine Fernandes, also performed.
Both artists through his rap, play various issues such as police brutality, crime, corruption and daily struggles. Divine, which is behind the hit “Jungli Sher”, feels it will be great if Zoya makes a film in underground hip-hop scene in the city.
