PESHAWAR: Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) estimate up to 26 percent in the recently held elections rigging Local Government (LG) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,

To submit a report to the media, Fafen CEO Shahid Fayaz said women were arrested for using their right to vote in 15 polling stations.

The Fafen report welcomed the Election Commission of Pakistan and the provincial government responsible for the disturbances and irregularities in the elections.

Although Fayaz said, participation in the elections was higher compared to the general election, which was affected by untrained staff, inadequate number of polling stations and rioting.

“13 percent of polling stations opened late across the province,” said the chief executive Fafen.
