Didn’t confirm any leading lady for Golmaal 4, says Arshad Warsion July 30, 2016 at 12:25 pm
Actor Arshad Warsi has denied or confirmed Deepika Padukone Alia Bhatt as the leading actresses in the upcoming fourth installment of the popular Golmaal franchise.
Arshad, who will next be seen in the legend of Michael Mishra lashed out on social networks to be misconstrued and clarified that he did not confirm the name of anyone for Golmaal 4.
“I did not confirm any protagonist of Golmaal 4. Means gave me the name Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone and told me I could be WTF.” Arshad, who has been a part of the franchise since the first movie Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, published in Twitter on Friday.
Directed by Manish Jha, The Legend of Michael Mishra is slated to release on August 5.
Reportedly, the fourth installment of the hit comedy Golmaal franchise will be announced during the Independence Day next year. Titled Golmaal Again, the film Ajay Devgan will meet with the director Rohit Shetty to carry on the franchise after three previous successes, according to a statement from the creators.
The announcement was made to celebrate 10 years of Golmaal, the first part, which released on this date in 2006. Apart from the star Drishyam, the film featured Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Rimi Sen in lead roles.
The film spawned two sequels- Golmaal returns in 2008 and 2010 Golmaal 3 in both of which were also released during the Independence Day. Again Golmaal mark the reunion of Shetty and 47-year-old actor after successful movies like “Bol Bachchan” and Singham franchise. Devgan, meanwhile, will be seen in his next directorial venture Shivaay.
