DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A woman was seriously injured as opponents attacked convoy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader, Ali Amin Gandapur, in the city of Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,
Ali Amin Gandapur, who is also provincial Minister of Revenue, when a large number of political activists headed somewhere in his hometown, including women workers, surrounded his convoy and chanted slogans against the PTI leader.
Reports said the enraged opponents broke the windshield of the vehicle PTI leader, leading his guards fired shots, leaving a seriously injured woman.
Police arrived on the scene and dispersed the protesters.
The attack came a day after the local bodies elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Judgment PTI is leading in the polls according to unofficial results, with its ally Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in second place, followed by the JUI-F that claimed his third place in the polls.
APP adds: The angry crowd attacked the vehicle allegedly carrying Gandapur by polls in Himmat Area.
According to police sources, peat Minister intercepted the vehicle and threw stones also. They argued that the Minister had stolen ballot boxes.
